Dark Night of the Soul is an album that went from not existing to near cult status after the album art was leaked on the internet just a little over a month ago. What made this so enticing, and blog inducing, was that its a collaboration with uber producer Danger Mouse and electro-rock group Sparklehorse using big name acts like Flaming Lips, Frank Black, The Strokes, The Shins, Iggy Pop and others for the vocals. An indie kids dream? You betcha. So it came as an even bigger shock to learn that the album WOULDN"T be released due to unspecified legal issues with label EMI. So what's an artist to do in this day and age? Post the whole thing online and sell a blank CD-R... and then leave it to you to put the pieces together.
