The city or State from which a band hails can sometimes play an important role in their sound and message. We need only to look back at places like Seattle, NYC, and Austin to find examples. Philadelphia is generally known as having a great norther soul vibe that's found its way into the mainstream in recent years. Dr. Dog, however not a part of that general sound, has ended up with an album that takes a large part of it's inspiration from their hometown and as you'll hear in this single from their upcoming album Shame, Shame, they call on specific people and events to pay homage to the land of our founding fathers.
