Today on The Paws Report at 3:30pm we have Salt, a four-year-old black domestic short-hair mix with striking light green eyes. Salt starts purring as soon as you open his cage. He loves getting rubbed on the head, especially behind the ears, and he seems content to accept pets for quite awhile. Salt likes to stroke his face along your hand and then lean down to show you just where to scratch. If you pet him long enough, Salt will look you in the eye and nuzzle his face against yours to tell you how much he loves the attention. Salt is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Come see Salt today at the Kentucky Humane Society’s Main Campus, 241 Steedly Drive. View all pets online at www.kyhumane.org or call 502-366-3355 for more information. KHS is having their annual Black Friday adoption special the day after Thanksgiving: no adoption fees for black/mostly black cats and dogs age 1 year and older. It’s a way for us to raise awareness about “Black Dog/Black Cat Syndrome,” in which pets with black fur spend up to twice as long in shelters as pets with less common colors and markings.
