On the Paws Report today at 3:30: Ty was ADOPTED! YAY!
Meet Ty, a gorgeous, easy going "pocket sized" German Shepherd mix with a super sweet personality. Ty has a beautiful tan coat with a black mask on his face. His amber-colored eyes will win you over with their expressiveness, and his black "eyebrows" are sure to make you laugh: he reminds us a bit of Groucho Marx or even Wile E. Coyote! Ty came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. He was absolutely terrified when he arrived, and he remained scared at our shelter. While Ty wanted to make friends with our staff, he found the shelter to be too scary. So the behavioral staff place him in a temporary foster home to see if he would open up. Well, Ty is a different dog in his foster home! His foster family says Ty is an absolute delight. Ty is house trained, very easy to walk on a leash, and is quite the couch potato at home, and each day he gains more confidence. He wants to be wherever his foster family is, and he enjoys laying at their feet. Ty does very well with the other dog in the home and has enjoyed meeting other canines on his walks. He also seems to do fine with cats. Ty loves going for car rides too. Ty also hasn't been much of a barker either. If you are looking for a very laid back, handsome, sweet dog who isn't much fuss, you must meet easy-going Ty. He may be a bit shy at first, but he relaxes once he knows he is safe and loved. We hope you'll give him a chance.
Also, the SNIP Clinic is offering $20 spay/neuters for Chihuahuas in August thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities. Chihuahuas are in the top five most common breeds surrendered to Louisville’s shelters.
