Hermione: The Paws Report, July 5

Today at 3:30 on The Paws Report:

Meet Hermione! Hermione is a four-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to the Kentucky Humane Society when her owners could no longer care for her. Now she’s looking for a family to love for the rest of her days! According to her former owners, Hermione is a total goofball who loves to roll around in the grass and play with her many toys. She is learning to potty outside but still needs some guidance to become completely house-trained. While Hermione enjoys other dogs, because of her energy level she would do best with an active, tolerant canine. The best part about Hermione? She plays soccer! Her former owners say that she loves playing soccer with the kids and is very eager to learn new things. Do you have the time and energy to give this adorable girl the forever home she deserves? If so, come meet her today! Hermione is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Meet Hermione at the Kentucky Humane Society’s East Campus, 1000 Lyndon Lane, Louisville KY 40222. Visit www.kyhumane.org to view all adoptable animals or call 502-366-3355 for more information.

KHS is raising money for spay/neuter surgeries for big dogs at our SNIP Clinic through the “Big Dog Fix” campaign. We have a matching gift opportunity from “Henry and Roxy the Pit Bulls” – their parents are matching up to $5,000 to help us alter large dogs. Big dogs have it harder in shelters – they take up to 3x as long to get adopted as small dogs – and they have large litters (often 10-15 puppies), adding to the pet overpopulation problem. Read more here.

Also, we are in great need for kitten milk replacer (KMR) and wet kitten food for our fosters. Folks who want to donate can drop these off at any KHS location.
