While working in the Cincinnati market 25 years ago, Stacy Owen never thought she’d be part of creating one of the first Adult Album Alternative stations in the world – let alone manage one of the format’s top stations in the country.
As WFPK’s Program Director, Stacy manages the entire staff and oversees the station’s on-air, web and social media content. With help from her talented crew, she continues to develop WFPK’s reputation as a tastemaker throughout the country. Because of this work, she’s been nominated for Program Director of the Year at FMQB’s annual Triple A convention in Boulder, Colo., for the last two years.
She also has a ton of fun booking and producing the station’s successful Waterfront Wednesday concert series each summer, the weekly Live Lunch broadcasts and other special events like the Winter Wednesday series and WFPK’s annual New Year’s Eve Bash.
Initially hired as WFPK’s Assistant Program Director in 2000, Stacy hosted mid- mornings, the all-request Friday morning show and played an integral role in founding and organizing the annual NonCommvention – a national convention for non-commercial Triple A radio stations and music industry representatives.
When not at work, Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband Colin, daughter Emily and their pets Drew the dog and Lucky the cat. She’s a movie buff, fan of live music and never misses an episode of Homeland.
