Dennis Wilson Radio Special - Friday!

We hope you've been enjoying the Album of the Week, Pacific Ocean Blue, by Dennis Wilson. We'll cap the week off with a one hour radio special titled Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue for your Friday Ride Home at 5pm. Also, be listening all day Friday for your chance to win a copy of the 2 CD Leagacy re-issue!

The special features Dennis Wilson's friends and family recallling how he developed his musical voice - one that was full of surprises, but also one that reflected his dark, moody life. While acclaim grew for both his Beach Boys contributions and his solo material, Wilson's creatvie output was sadly stifled by his hard and fast lifestyle. His plans to follow Pacific Ocean Blue with an even grander album, Bambu, were left unfinised at the time of his drowning death in 1983.

Interview subjects include Brian Wilson, former Beach Boys manager Jim Guercio, Pacific Ocean Blue co-producer Gregg Jakobson and more. You'll also hear many tracks from the album as well as music from the long lost Bambu sessions. Hosted by noted rock historian and Smithereens drummer, Dennis Diken.

Read a recent stellar review of the re-issue at pitchfork.com

Did you own the album the first time around? Have you been spending time with the re-issue? We'd love to know your thoughts about Dennis and his music!
