I Was Talking To A Ghost(s)

Me with Tegan & Sara Backstage at the 'Roo!

It’s official: My head is swimming. It’s just starting to rain so I thought this would be a good time to hit the media tent and recap the day’s events. In the past 4 hours I’ve seen (and in their case met) Tegan & Sara, The Raconteurs, some of Rilo Kiley and some of Willie Nelson. Unreal! As expected the Raconteurs ROCKED, Rilo Kiley put on a very fun show (one guy in a wheel chair in front of me was bouncing up & down so hard I feared he might fall out) and Willie, well… I was close to tears it was so special.

My Brother-in-Law introduced me to Willie’s music when I was a pre-teen. I love my Brother-in-Law for doing this, and I loved his son Marty as the younger brother I never had. Marty died quite unexpectedly just over a month ago from a heart condition he didn't know he had. He was just 36 years old. I can’t begin to tell you what a loss for my family this has been. Marty’s favorite band for almost all of his life was Metallica. In an hour or so I will be watching Metallica for the first time. I never got into them like Marty did, but he used to try his darnest to get me there! Tonight I will be watching Metallica for him.

Peace and love for now from Bonnaroo.
