It's been five years, and over 230 broadcasts. Local luminaries and internationally-known jazz musicians have poured their hearts and souls out on the stage of the Jazz Factory, and WFPK was there from 2003 through the present with weekly broadcasts of "Late Set at the Jazz Factory."
Sadly for Louisville, the Jazz Factory closed its doors for the final time in the wee hours of the morning on March 30. For a full listing of all the great artists who performed on the stage, and an "obituary" of the club, be sure to check out the Jazz Factory's website.
WFPK will air the "Last Set" from the Jazz Factory, featuring Harry Pickens and friends, at 5:00pm this Sunday, April 13. I hope you can join us for the broadcast of this special final show. For more information on the closing of the Jazz Factory, and the future of jazz in Louisville, check out Elizabeth Kramer's feature story on the website of our sister station, WFPL.
WFPK will air Jazz with Bob Parlocha Sundays at 7am and Roots and Boots will begin at 5pm Sunday evening.
