Peace & Love & Music Rules!

It’s early, but I have the Bonnarro Buzz already.  No, not talking about that!  I’m talking about the giddy excitement of having so much to
see & so much to do… and doing it with tens of thousands of other people who for the most part are giddy, too.  Peace & Love really is contagious.
For we media people this buzz doesn’t happen when we’re finished putting up our tents.  We have to figure what works, what doesn’t, and if it can be fixed.  This is always a challenge, but you learn to go with the flow.
I think the reason the vibe is so strong this year is that the music is happening earlier.  No more milling around waiting for the 1st bands.  I just came from catching part of Diane Birch’s set.  What a voice!  I was too far away to really see her in any defined way, but the presence of her vocal delivery carried her to me.

Day Two:  Speaking of things that don't always work, the internet went down last night so I didn't get to post this then.   So I saw the Miike Snow show:  what an awesome set!  Tight vocals, great light show and great crowd energy!  The crowd surfers were out in force last night.  Then I checked out the XX... good, but by that point everything was kinda getting blurred together.  I did get up at 4:30 am, after all.

With all the mud ruts the usually "orderly" campsites are a mess.  Normally cars are lined up in neat rows (like in a tailgate situation).  Know which row your tent is on and you're good to go.  But because of the mud everybody is camped more like pods.  This makes it hard to find your way home at night.  I spent 20 minutes trying to find my site.  I heard other campers having the same trouble.

Now I'm off to catch Trombone Shorty!
