Do502 and You!

WFPK is partnering with Do502 to bring you a more comprehensive concert calendar and listing of events. They also have Louisville artist profiles which is great for finding out when and where your favorites are playing and good for the artists too. Amelia Stevens is the General Manager of the site and we interviewed her about how the website will be beneficial to our community and especially local musicians.

What is Do502.com?

Do502, on the surface, is an event discovery platform. Do502 is much more than just an event awareness guide for visitors and residents of Louisville, Do502 is the voice that Louisville listens to when they're looking to discover fresh, surprising, and engaging entertainment, events, artists, new restaurants, etc while depending on a hyper-functional and accurate interface with popular events throughout Louisville. That combination of discovery and functionality, partnered with our cheeky, meme-soaked irreverent voice across our content and social vehicles, has allowed us to penetrate a variety of social circles, bringing the community together and creating the all-screen destination for Louisville to share and discover... #HowWeLou.

What's your title, job and responsibilities at Do502?

I'm the General Manager at Do502 - I take care of everything from artist / brand / event relations to event curation, advertising through and with Do502, social media management, newsletter curation, Tastemaker relations, editorial editing and creation, etc. We have a fantastic Content Manager, Mitchell Morris, who handles site content and editorial, manages the day-to-day event listings and curation, assists with social media management, and generates some of the funniest ideas / tweets we've had in some time.

I recently heard you're going to start having artist profiles on your site. Can local artists participate? And how will this be useful for them?

Absolutely! The foundation to all DoStuff sites, Do502 included, are the event listings and artist profiles. Any and all artists have the opportunity to create one and participate - the more the better. The more robust our local artist database, the more support the community can show for the events and the artists. Artist profiles on Do502 are useful in a number of ways - they allow users to find all artist links, from their website to their twitter handle, in once place - along with a bio and a recent YouTube video that shows off the artist's talents. It also allows the artist profile to be added to any event the artist is playing or performing at. Playing a show at Mag Bar? We want to make sure that event displays your full artist profile. Comedy at the Laughing Derby? We want to make sure folks know YOU will be there! PLUS, with an artist profile, users can follow (or "add") artists that they like - gaining popularity for the artist on our site and letting the fan / user know each time the artist announces a new show!

What steps does someone have to take to get their profile on your site and/or their event listed?

Excellent questions! We're always happy to assist anyone and everyone through setting up their profile, adding events, etc - we're only an email away at do502@do502.com. We also have a few handy guides located permanently in our footer to help with each of these processes - from a personal Do502 profile, to adding an event, to setting up your artist profile:

https://do502.com/p/artist - Setting Up Your Artist Profile
https://do502.com/p/adding-events-do502 - Adding Events on Do502.com

All are completely free (profiles, artist pages, event listings) and we're ready to help anyone that might have trouble using the guides or navigating the site. Just email us. :)
