Battle of Kings: Michael Jackson vs. Elvis, Dec. 26th

Motherlodge and Musician’s Emergency Resource Foundation present a dance party benefit for Strive:

A Battle of Kings: Elvis vs. Michael Jackson at Headliners Music Hall 7pm doors / 8pm show 18 and over / $10

On Monday December 26 2016, Cheyenne Mize and Nina Rodahaffer of Strive and Ray Rizzo of Motherlodge Live Arts Exchange are once again inviting a group of Louisville musical luminaries to fill the stage at Headliners Music Hall for a mock band battle and dance party to benefit Strive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit creative wellness organization.

Riding on the thrills of last year’s “battle” between Beck and Justin Timberlake, A Battle Of Kings will playfully pit the music of Elvis Presley against the music of Michael Jackson. Over 30 musicians from different corners and generations of Louisville music will form 2 bands to play sets in the course of the evening arranged like boxing rounds. A Battle Of Kings is being co-presented by Motherlodge and the Musician’s Emergency Resource Foundation (MERF), a Louisville organization with over 35 years of advocating for musicians facing health and other financial crises throughout Louisville.

Singers and musicians participating in A Battle of Kings include Jecorey Arthur (1200), Carly Johnson, Wayne Young and Marvin Maxwell (Soul, Inc., Shufflin’ Grand Dads), William Benton (Cat Casual), Laura Ellis (Billy Goat Strut Revue), Jimmy Brown (BoDeco), Ethan Buckler (King Kong), Jacob Duncan (Liberation Prophecy), J.D. Green (Afrophysicists) , Mauriece Hamilton (Big Diggity), Cheyenne Mize, Chris Rodahaffer (Slow Down Johnny, Bonnie “Prince” Billy), Tyrone Cotton, Christy O’Connell (Juanita), Natalie Felker (The Fervor), Van Campbell (Bonnie “Prince” Billy), Brett Holzclaw (Juanita, Wanda Jackson), Nina Rodahaffer, Scott Mertz (Your News Vehicles), Jorge Ruiz, Scott Anthony, Ray Rizzo and Todd Johnson (Rumours: A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac) and more artists to be announced.
