Meg Samples hails from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and made her way to Louisville in 2006. She graduated from the University of Louisville Jazz program with a focus in Jazz drum set and women’s and gender studies. Her current percussion projects include drumming with an eclectic jazz quartet Squeeze-bot, indie rock group The Deloreans , folk driven Bridge-19, an electro-pop trio Big Momma Thorazine, and a throw-back eight piece ensemble chrissened The Dixieland Solution.
Meg began working with the world famous Louisville Leopard Percussionists in 2008. Her main focus with the program has been arranging, drum set instruction, and bad knock-knock jokes. Outside of the Leopards, Meg teaches private drum lessons and performs independently for local churches, businesses, on street curbs, and anywhere else rhythm can be found.
